DESCRIPTION
BASIC DESCRIPTION OF THE EFFECT:
You take a tiny wooden board out of your pocket and stick a large Post-it onto it. Using a pencil, you draw a ‘safe’ circle to help the spectator ‘focus on their thoughts’. They will then write inside that circle: their best friend’s initials, last digits of their SSN, address number, basic drawing, etc.
No matter what is drawn or written, the result is instantly displayed on your smartphone or watch (via our app – cost between $5 and $19).
The phone can be hidden in your pocket, on the floor or behind an object. The watch can simply be on your wrist with the screen OFF so that you can light it up just by touching it when you are ready to peek at the information. Or you can remove the band and palm the watch, or hide it in a hollowed out deck of cards. The possibilities are endless.

TECHNICAL LIMITS:
- The effect is inspired by the Center Tear Effect (see description here). Thanks to this trick, we limit the writing area to the appropriate place on the Pad. Only the central area of the Pad is sensitive (1.57” x 1.57” – see pictures). The writing detection is made thanks to the pencil pressure on that sensitive surface. All the other areas of the Psychic Center Pad are insensitive: no risk of double pressure caused by the hand or fingers on the edges. The technical limits of our Psychic Notepad 4.0 released in 2014 are now solved.
- It is best to use a hard pencil (4H or 6H). Regular pens work too but they must have a sharp hard tip. Felt pens and sharpies are excluded.
- Post-it Super Sticky FULL ADHESIVE are the perfect sheets of paper to write on the Psychic Center Pad. You can also use your own paper (20 lb maximum) thanks to the little bulldog clip. Three Post-it maximum on the Center Pad at the same time.
- The Psychic Center Pad is not designed for long words or sentences. It is highly recommended to limit yourself to numbers, basic drawings, symbols and words of 5 capital letters or less.
