Fabrice Delaure's wonders
FOREWORD :
For 15 years, from 1995 to 2010, Fabrice Delauré has kept on developping the new instruments of contemporary mentalism. In the footsteps of Christian Fechner, Claude Klingsor and Anverdi, his role models, Fabrice, among others, updated the performing art of mentalism and brought it back into fashion in the medias, particularly on television.
He literally rejuvenated this dying discipline at the beginning of the 90s, developping a whole technological armory based on microelectronics, robotics and computer science. He even rethought every single technical process by integrating microprocessors, software-encoded radiowaves and computer-controlled robotic mechanisms for the first time in the history of magic.
He is the originator of wonders of mentalism such as his famous
Psychic Clipboard
(1998), the first magic tricks using RFID chips from 2000 (Platinum AKANA) during the FISM in Lisbon.
Here is a non exhaustive list of his creative works. He was the first to:
for his magic trick called Mental Distance Divination back in 1996,
at the time when mobile telephones were not even equipped with it yet!
- Use CMS hybrid impulse radio
in his transmitter/receivers from 1995 (10 Little Giants).
- Transmit alphanumerical datas from a computer through radio waves
to display them on a LED screen hidden inside a Bicycle playing card case from 1995 (Micro Reader).
- Transmit complex designs and writings from a concealed graphics tablet
tablet through radio waves from 1996 ( Psychic Clipboard).
- Create Bicycle playing cards equipped with electronic chips
which contain their name recorded in 6 languages ( Platinum Akana -FISM 2000- )!
- Commercially spread RFID technology into magical effects
from 2000 (FISM of Lisbon).
- Invent the first inductive and touch-sensitive magical effect
in 2005 thanks to the Black Tabletop, a few years before the iPhone was commercialised!
Even though he sometimes is imitated with a few years of delay, Fabrice Delauré has always been ahead regarding the creation of revolutionary magical effects. His main leitmotiv have always been innovation, professional comfort and maximal impact of the magical effects on the audience. He often takes up the classics of mentalism, extending their physical limits to the maximum. The leading ideas of Fabrice's work are the following:
No shady showing to the audience.
No way of clearly presenting the magical effects
without exposing their final solutions.
He now provides today's most famous mentalists. He elaborated numerous TV shows around the world (BBC, FOX, TF1, M6, Channel 4, NHK, TVE, etc.). Gary Kurtz, Derren Brown, Criss Angel, Teller, Siegfried & Roy, Banachek, Ali Bongo, Michael Weber, Juan Mayoral, Dominique Duvivier, Luis de Matos, as well as dozens of celebrities have enjoyed his imcomparable creations and expertness.
Nowadays, Fabrice mainly devotes himself to his other passion: cinema. He is currently directing his first feature film shot between Los Angeles (where he often stays) and France. In the meantime, he is writing a forthcoming book which would gather all the technical explanations of the works he carried out throughout the past 15 years. The book will probably count more than 1000 pages.
Today, Fabrice still creates prototypes for his personal use.
Maybe one day he will expose to the world his new wonders, still ahead of our times...
